Meridian Health's patient portal was built on a 10-year-old Java application that was slow, difficult to maintain, and failing to meet modern accessibility standards. Patients frequently abandoned the portal due to confusing navigation, and the development team needed 6 weeks to ship even minor changes.
We rebuilt the portal from scratch using a modern full-stack framework with a reactive frontend. The new architecture features a clean API layer, role-based access control, and real-time appointment notifications via WebSockets.
